vintage pattern...

1950s McCall's pattern

During the 1950s, the classic wiggle dress was a popular staple in every woman's closet. Today, many designers try to immulate this retro design while incorporating modern details in exchange for a costly price tag. However with beautiful fabric and a sturdy sewing machine you can create your own custom wiggle dress at a fraction of the cost...and if your sewing skills are not exactly 'up to par' there are ton's of authentic, one of a kind wiggle dresses that can be purchased...like the one below.
This pattern can be found at the lovely etsy shop, Aunt Nonnies Nest.

little small treasures

Here are a few of the treasures I found on Thursday's estate sale. The antique mushroom shaped pin cushion and trinket box are both made of sterling silver, and are from the 1920s decade. The adorable raffia, navy blue handbag is a 1950s made in Japan original! I am keeping the pin cushion and trinket box for my own keepsake, however I have decided to offer the lovely handbag up for sale in the shop! I will let you know once it is available for purchase....
***The handbag is now ready for purchase
