shop update: collection 2

orange satin evening bag

emerald green necklace

50s white evening bag

navajo southwestern earrings jewelry

40s black beaded purse bag

Collection 2 is now available in the vintage shop. I'm satisfied with the growth of new inventory I've collected over the past week and super excited to share my discoveries with you. In other news, I'm happy it's officially Autumn and the cooler weather has taken it's rightful place here in the south. Knitting, drinking Earl Gray and collecting vintage consumes a chunk of my spare time, the other portion is consumed by mommy/wife duties. Therefore, I hope it's not too long until there's another vintage update.

shopping list:
vintage autumn copper evening bag
emerald green necklace
beaded envelope evening clutch
sterling silver earrings
corde' black beaded handbag

Brooch Assortment

A couple of days ago, my mother took me to a little spot I would like to refer to as 'vintage heaven'.... as it truly was paradise for a person like myself who is completely obsessed with vintage! This little space was located inside of a flea market located off the beaten path (just 45 min from Atlanta) ... The owner was such a delight and made my shopping experience not only pleasurable but a wonderful 'learning' experience as well. I learned all sorts of things from the best places to shop for vintage, old labels that are highly wanted and even how to dye old Corde bags that have been stained due to many decades of wear.
Thank goodness I had my mother and grandma with me to watch baby J.J , since it took me nearly an hour to browse the tiny shop.... and trust me when I 'write' this was not nearly enough time needed to see EVERYTHING this store had to offer! I did manage to purchase a lot of antique brooches, necklaces and bracelets for the shop. Every piece has been photographed, however due to being a new mommy, time is very limited and I will not be able to add these pieces until Tuesday morning at the latest.
In the meantime, please enjoy this photo of an assortment of brooches that are patiently waiting to be added to the boutique.

brooch shopping

Today is the day friends! This evening my husband and I will be headed to the hospital for me to be induce.
I'm excited that the time has finally come to give birth to our first child. We have waited anxiously until this moment (baby arrival) to find out the sex... That's right! We have no idea what the sex is !!!
So, nevertheless 'little mod human' will be here over the weekend and I can't wait to share with you all the news of what gender the baby is.
---
As for antiques and all things vintage, my husband Mr. Rugged took me to a 'new' antique shop this afternoon. I'm sad and happy all at once to have discovered this charming old home filled with the most amazing antiques however slightly disappointed that this will be my first and last time there (for at least the next month or so) due to having a new baby to now take care of. Talk about bittersweet bliss...
The shop owner Nancy was the sweetest lady ever and I was more than happy to purchase these lovely antique brooches from her. Usually I have an absolute favorite, but with these pieces I cannot simply settle for just one... I love em all!

shop update & a train wreck pie

Just in case you lovely readers did not know, I've added a few new products to the shop.
Also, today I will be working on adding additional merchandise to my official web site :)
.....
I baked an apple pie last night, and although this is technically only the 3rd apple pie I've ever baked, this one for some reason was a complete failure. I'm not quite sure what went wrong but the bottom crust total evaporated and/or turned into mush. Very disappointing, since it was something I've been craving for a while. My husband, Mr. Rugged said that it taste fine and reminds him of a cobbler of some sort, but I'm not buying it!

shop update

There are still a few more pieces of jewelry I need to add to inventory, however these are the one's I did get around to adding to the shop. The halter dress is one of my favorites and just as a heads up... if it does not sell before the spring, I just may keep it for myself :) all is fair in the world of vintage I suppose!
Please visit my etsy and/ or official web shop for product information on the items photographed above.

Baubles and Bits ...

baubles and bits
(1920s-1940s)

I've recently moved outside of Atlanta into a more quite, family oriented environment just two weeks ago and there's nothing more exciting then exploring a new side of town. Yesterday, (after an extensive internet search) I decided to pack up the car with tons of snacks (remember I'm pregnant) and drove to all the 'best spots' in my new neighborhood for vintage and antique shopping. It was such a joy to find so many lovely things... But what's even more amazing is all the antique jewelry I discovered... and this almost never happens! I left a ton of exquisite pieces behind... however, I do plan to scoop up the remaining of the baubles and bits on my next shopping trip.
Above is a preview of the wonderful estate jewelry pieces I purchased for the shop.
I hope you love them as much as I do :)
