 1940s Art Deco BEADED FORMAL Evening Handbag 

1920s TAPESTRY Flapper Evening Handbag 

Found these two goodies yesterday while attending an estate sale -

This 1920s tapestry bag was made in Italy with excellent craftsmanship and still in impeccable condition. The shape is very similar to a saddle bag due to it's flap over closure. As for the 1940s art deco style, this piece is in mint condition. I believe it was only worn once or twice (if that) and tucked away for many years. The lining is clean and all beading is in tack. Both formal bags were owned by an older (and extremely elegant) lady named Mrs. Lambert who originally lived in Paris for most of her life. I had such a lovely time chatting with this dear lady and rambling through her fancy wardrobe. I was lucky enough to score these two stunning pieces. Jackpot!

Shop Update.... 

Here are all the goodies found on a recent shopping trip to Athens. My absolute favorite find is definitely the 1920s Tapestry Handbag. It's a rare beauty and I almost cried when my husband spotted it (for me)

Rocket To Mars... vintage shop

A few weeks ago I took a trip up north to Providence and found this adorable vintage shop just a few blocks away from my sister's apartment. I found gorgeous handbags from the 1940s -1960s decade...it's safe to say that I stocked up ! There were plenty of cocktail dresses that I now regret not purchasing... however I did have a hard time stuffing these bags into my suitcase :/

I stayed inside the entire day working on the shop and conducting various 'paperwork' tasks...all while sneaking in a few pages here & there from my latest summer read...The Castle House. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that it's now been more than 2 weeks and I have yet to finish the short book...I blame it on Mr. Rugged and Mod Human Vintage :)
Rugged & I are taking another road trip over the weekend... hopefully I will find the time to finish before then and if not, oh well.
side note: I don't really blame you honey...I actually THANK YOU for our wonderful dates ;)

Vintage 1940s Jane Birkin LEOPARD Handbag

I've held on to this particular handbag for some time now, and finally worked up the nerve to list it in the shop...Literally minutes after listing, this bag was officially marked SOLD! Something inside of me was happy yet a little sad to part with this truly unique find...As of now 'she' is nicely packaged and ready for her travels overseas & into the arms of her new owner :)

I will miss u my love!
