fall sneak peak...

1960s SPY Trench Coat
1960s Ann Margaret Coat
1960s Grace Kelly Coat
1960s Ann Margaret Coat

The humidity has been unbearable this summer...and I was very happy to say the least once the weather became more pleasurable throughout this week. Today I even caught an occasional breeze :)
I am highly anticipating Fall this year and realized that September is right around the corner...After sifting through my huge closet of inventory I pulled out a few vintage coats to introduce the Fall Sneak Peak...enjoy!

It's amazing that in the 'fashion world' renowned designers are already showcasing their pre-fall 2010 collections. After previewing a few, I must say that Rachel Roy's collection is the far most impressive in my opinion. Exhibiting clean lines, mute yet elegant tones and the mix of drapery & military details...this collection is refined and perfect for the uptown/downtown woman.
Another aspect that blew me away, was just how refreshing yet retro inspired each individual look came across...call this a coincidence however I think she definitely got it right!
What are some of your favorite retro inspired designer looks?

Pumpkin Pie

Autumn has to be my all time favorite season..second runner up is Spring. There is nothing like orange leaves, crisp air, oversize boyfriend sweaters, pumpkin pie, and spice latte's to cheer up anyone's day... Not to mention, the anticipation for Halloween is always a fun. I finally purchase a pumpkin to make pumpkin pie and bread with! I'm very excited, as this will be my very first time making each. Tomorrow I am going to the Pinback concert with my sister, Karen. She introduced me to this indie band about 2-3 years ago, and instantly I felt in love. If you haven't heard of them..please have a listen here.
As for Mod Human Vintage....a huge store update has been completed! Please check back again tomorrow too...as I will be adding more vintage randomly.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful day :)

Caveman Daughter

Hi my beautiful readers! I am back as promised....and hopefully I will be able to continuously blog about shop updates for the next few weeks (my computer is still currently being fixed.) Today was productive, steady and quite...I got a lot of work done on both vintage sites! I'm excited to introduce Caveman Daughter, a more affordable site full of fun, edgier vintage that I absolutely love...that just so' happen not to be a perfect fit for Mod Human...which is more of a luxury handbag & trinket sort of shop :)
Please let me know what you think...and do remember that I will be combining shipping from both stores.
Ciao!

vivid shapes

This entire week has went by sooo' fast! I often find myself wondering 'where does all the time go?' Today was productive...I went to an estate sale and lucked up on a few trinkets, Iv'e decided to keep for myself (Victorian pin cushion, sterling silver jewelry holder, etc)...I will upload some photos of my antique finds tomorrow! Also, I purchase packing supplies and took ton's of photos today of inventory 'waiting' to be added to the shop. I hope you enjoy the colorful handbags above...

crazy for moccasin's

I must be a true bohemian princess at heart because I am totally smitten over these new Sienna Fringed Moccasin booties by J. Crew. I already have a ton of tan, suede moccasins very similar to these above, but who could resist a pair in GRAY! I have been struggling between the battle of 'to buy or not to buy'...and it seems that the boho princess has won this battle. I am ordering a pair this week.
What are some of your obsessions?

Dainty Shoes 4 Me and You

Today was another eventful day of work...which involved a shopping trip, photo shoot and preparing for class finals. I am a student at a local University for those who had no idea :) I'm studying psychology, which is hard work yet I find it to be extremely interesting and worth pursing. The estate sale was a continuation of the prior event last week. This worked in my favor because I was able to purchase additional merchandise that I did not have the opportunity to make. Also, a huge lot of shoes have been added to the shop! Did I mention that I'm absolutely in love and have been very tempted to keep a few pairs for myself!?! Free shipping is now being offered on orders $124.00 and over. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Well, I just added another Mod Human favorite to the shop..in honor of 'gloomy days.' It's a 1970s Jordache Rain Coat! Very comfy, cozy and cute :) This one takes be back to my childhood...

Satchels and Mini Messengers

I just listed two handbags in the shop.
One is a 1970s Capezio...which has a doctor satchel shape and removable shoulder strap. The other handbag is a gorgeous slate grey leather, mini messenger...which can be worn across the body. Both handbags are superb and are perfect for everyday wear and the Fall months to come.
